Four stone idols found in airport




Four stone idols found in the international departure terminal at the Chennai airport on Friday morning were handed over to the airport police.


According to airport sources, the idols packed in a bag, were found in the departure terminal. Panicked passengers alerted the airport security agencies. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad of the CISF were brought to handle the parcel.


Idols of Hanuman, Murugan, goddess Amman and another unidentified figurine were found in it and the security agencies suspect that the parcel was meant to be smuggled to London.


The CISF authorities handed over the idols to the airport police.


The airport police will hand over the idols to the Idol wing of the CB-CID police, airport sources added.
