Sivaranga Charities, Raja Annamalai Puram, is arranging free coaching classes for Class XI commerce students studying in English medium. Preference will be given to students who have completed Class X in Tamil medium. Senior teachers will be conducting the classes in commerce, business mathematics, accountancy, economics and English.
The on-going classes are being conducted from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. The venue is Sri Ranga Hospital, Mandaveli.

R.A. Puram Residents’ Association is conducting its quarterly meeting on Aug. 12 (today), at Mahalakshmi Hall, Park View Road, Srinivasa Avenue. The programme will start at 9 a.m. Joint commissioner, Corporation of Chennai, will be the chief guest. Residents can interact with the officials.

The second issue of R.A. Puram news letter was released on August 4. Over 4,000 copies were circulated. The 14-page issue contained many articles on astrology, finance, health, legal, jokes, puzzles etc. In one of the articles — ‘Vermicompost in my backyard’ by Dr. R. Chandrasekaran — the writer says that not a bit of paper has been thrown on the road for the past three months. He has also describes how garbage in Chennai could be reduced by 30 per cent if all the individual houses start vermicomposting.
