Greenwood Higher Secondary School (Nagaland) goalkeeper Neithovilie was the star of the contest as the north-east team defeated Kalyangarh Bidyamandir (West Bengal) 3-1 in the penalty shoot-out to lift the under-14 boys’ title in the 53rd Subroto Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium, here on Monday.
The result (penalty shoot-out): Nagaland 3 (Nyithung, Osen, Piketo) bt Bengal 1 (Sandip Roy; Sanjib Bhowmik, Sourav Biswas and Prokash Sarkar missed in the shoot-out).
Special awards: Best Player: Sourav Biswas (Kalyangarh Bidyamandir, West Bengal); Best Goalkeeper: Neithovilie (Greenwood HSS, Nagaland); Fair Play: Namchi Sports Hostel (Sikkim).
