Vijay Mallya himself is largely to blame for the fate of Kingfisher Airlines (“Beginning of the end,” Oct. 23). He could have acted much earlier to set things right, instead of waiting for the worst. The losers are the fateful employees of the airline and the banks which have run huge exposure to Kingfisher. The Civil Aviation Ministry and the DGCA must also be held responsible for the developments.

The self-styled “king of good times” has left his faithful workers in the lurch. A company which forgets its employees will soon be forgotten. The rise and fall of Kingfisher airline has become a case study for management students. The airline is now trying to reinvent itself but it is extremely difficult for it to arise from the ashes.
