A literary fare






The Gitanjali Prize will be held in Puducherry from December 1 to 7



The Mohsen Hachtroudi Foundation (MoHa) and the CGH Earth Group present The Gitanjali Prize, a Franco-Indian literary prize. It will be held in Puducherry from December 1 to 7, with the theme ‘Resistance, Independence, Liberty’.


The cultural festival welcomes artists in different fields such as graphic art, photography, dance and music for the week, and includes debates and conferences, exhibitions, concerts and dances, and film shows in different parts of the town. The celebration will end with a valedictory at the Hotel Mahé de Malabar, in the company of French and Indian laureates and invited writers and artists.


The Gitanjali Prize is organised under the patronage of the French Institute and its president Xavier Darcos. Francophone Indian writer Sashi Tharoor and Goncourt Prize awardee Jean-Christophe Ruffin will be present along with Ségolène Royal, president of the International Association of Francophone Regions. Writers such as Tarun Tejpal and Déwé Gorodey (from New Caledonia) too will be present along with many other writers and personalities.
