Constable dies after taking poison





A constable committed suicide by consuming poison at the police quarters in Kothanur where she was living with her two young children and her mother here on Sunday night.


Dhanalakshmi (28), deserted by her husband Gangadhar, a security guard, was attached to the Banaswadi police station.


The police said that on Saturday evening, Gangadhar had come to meet her and the couple quarrelled. Later in the evening, when her mother and the children had gone out to buy groceries, she consumed poison.


When the others returned home, they saw her lying on the floor.


She was rushed to hospital where she died on Sunday night, the Kothanur police said.


Falls on road, dies


Kemparaju, a head constable working as a driver with the Central Crime Branch, died when he tripped and fell on the road while going home after work on Monday morning. The father of three is believed to have died of cardiac arrest.


Rider killed


A motorcycle rider was killed when he lost control over his motorcycle and rammed the compound wall of a BBMP hospital here on Monday morning.


Ranjan Syamrai (26) from Manipur was working in a bar on Bannerghatta Road. He was on his way home when the accident occurred, Adugodi traffic police said.
