Permission sought for narco test in Mithila Mohan case

The Crime Branch has requested permission to conduct a narco analysis test on Santhosh Kumar, the first accused in the murder of liquor contractor ‘Mithila’ Mohan. The request was submitted before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court here on Wednesday.

The court also denied bail to Santhosh Kumar. Kumar was arrested earlier this month and charged with murder and criminal conspiracy to murder V.A. Mohanan in 2006. Mr. Kumar allegedly asked Pandiyan, from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu, to hire two shooters to kill Mohanan. Kumar had named two persons, Mathivanan and Uppali, as those who shot Mohanan. The Crime Branch later identified another man, Mohan Ram, as the shooter.

Crime Brach SP K.G. Simon said they wanted to confirm whether Kumar had given them the correct information.

Kumar had been taken to Dindigul, Ootty, Chennai and Coimbatore to collect evidence regarding the murder weapon and the places where the conspiracy was hatched.
