Senior Congress leader Kagodu Thimmappa will, in all likelihood, be elected Speaker unopposed, as he is the only candidate to have filed nomination papers for the post when the process came to a close on Thursday. Mr. Thimmappa will be declared elected on Friday during the ongoing session of the Assembly. A former Minister, Mr. Thimmappa (82) was elected MLA from Sagar in Shimoga district.
