Balkis Banu (45) of Shanthinagar in Tumkur city died of dengue at Shifa Hospital in Bangalore on Wednesday.
Balkis Banu was admitted to Shridevi Nursing home and was treated there for four days. She was discharged on Tuesday evening and shifted to Bangalore where she died. Taluk Medical officer A. Thippeswamy told The Hindu that Balkis Banu was suffering from dengue, brain infection, and diabetes.
From January 2013, 23 cases of dengue have been reported from Tumkur district.
